Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is the number one killer in America. Some 7
million Americans suffer from CHD, a narrowing of the blood vessels that feed
the heart. Each year, more than 500,000 men and women die from heart attacks
caused by CHD (twice that many including strokes and other cardiovascular
problems).
Big Business
America
leads the world in heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, cancer, cholesterol
lowering drug prescriptions, and expensive heart bypass surgeries - and the
medical establishment is laughing all the way to the bank! Fifty billion
dollars per year is being spent on heart bypass surgery alone, and many times
that much on statins and other harmful prescription drugs.
Billions are being
spent each year pumping out ludicrous propaganda about cholesterol being the
cause of heart disease. Bewildered patients are being whisked off to emergency
bypass surgery to save their life, only to find a year or two later that the
$50,000 procedure has to be repeated. This most popular surgery in America has a
15% mortality rate for patients over age 65 and a whopping 85% reocclusion rate
within sixteen months of the procedure! What is wrong with this picture?
Fortunately, there is a safe and cost effective way to halt
and reverse cardiovascular disease by attacking its root cause. This remarkable
alternative to drugs and surgical treatment has profound detoxifying effects on
the body that have proven useful for treating not only heart disease, but heavy
metal and other toxicities, strokes, diabetes, Alzheimer's, and cancer.
Chelation Therapy
Goes to the Heart of the Problem!
Chelation therapy involves introducing specialized substances
into the body that bind to heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, iron,
copper or aluminum and make them water soluble so they can be eliminated by the
kidneys through the urine. Chelation
comes from the Greek word chele,
which means to claw or to bind . By eliminating toxic or excess metals,
chelation removes the multiplying
force of free radicals in the body, the unstable atoms or molecules
that destroy cell membranes and are thought to be at the very core of aging and
the disease process.
Free radical damage
to epithelial cells that line arterial walls is said to contribute to the
formation of atherosclerotic plaque and eventually to calcification of the
arteries, which compromises both their flexibility and permeability. Impaired
circulation and increased blood pressure are the logical result. By removing
free radicals and their causes, chelation therapy allows the body's natural
healing powers the opportunity to rejuvenate damaged cells, vessels and organs.
Chelation is a shining example of the power of dealing with the biochemical
causes of disease rather than merely masking symptoms.
Types of Chelation
Therapy
Intravenous (IV) Chelation therapy, in which a medical practitioner injects synthetic chelating
agents directly into the blood stream, is not new. The British used it during
World War II to treat victims of poison gas exposure. Today, IV Chelation
therapy remains the undisputed treatment-of-choice for acute lead poisoning,
even in children.
A number of synthetic chelating agents are used depending on
the toxic exposure being treated, but by far the most popular is a synthetic
amino acid called EDTA (ethylene
diamine tetraacetic acid), which is typically administered by IV drip
(1800-3000 mg) in an outpatient setting over a three to four hour period. Often
the drip also contains vitamins and minerals. The number of treatments varies
by individual need, but the typical course is one to three times per week for
twenty to thirty treatments (at $100 each) with periodic maintenance drips.
Side Effects - Zinc, chromium or copper depletion (if not supplemented)
Oral Chelation therapy is also quite effective, but takes longer to achieve its desired
effects, presumably because EDTA is only 5% absorbed into the bloodstream.
Nonetheless (much to the dismay of the doctors who have cornered the market on
IV chelation), there is sound clinical and scientific evidence that the oral
approach increases both urinary and fecal excretion of heavy metals. Oral EDTA
may be used as an adjunctive therapy with IV therapy or in combination with
other natural chelating agents such as cysteine, N-acetyl cysteine, garlic or
MSM. The recommendeddoseof oral EDTA is 1,000-2,000 mg per day
in divided doses to be taken indefinitely, but for a minimum of three months.
Contraindications
- Persons with end stage renal disease
Side Effects -
Stomach upset (rare); zinc, chromium or copper depletion
The Bottom Line
Chelation therapy works! It has been vigorously opposed by all forms of organized medicine
precisely because it works so well to rid the body of harmful metals, toxins
and free radicals, which can have profound influences on our health and quality
of life.
It is proven to be a safe, effective, and inexpensive way to transform
health and give heart or vascular patients a viable, noninvasive alternative to
bypass surgery or amputation.But don't
wait until you are faced with a health crisis to find out for yourself the
incredible benefits chelation has to offer. Although the profit driven powers
that be will never allow chelation to be covered by insurance, it is well worth
the personal investment.
